Description
A medium-sized green to brown-green Russula with crowded cream gills that often fork near the stem.
Identification features
The cap is 5–11 cm wide, greenish to brown-green and later depressed centrally. Gills are white to cream, crowded and often forked near the stem. The white stem may brown-spot with age.

How to separate similar species
Greenish Russula can be confused with death cap. Always inspect the complete base and confirm the absence of veil structures.
