Description
An orange to reddish-brown grisette with a striate cap margin, no ring, and a white sack-like volva.
Identification features
The stem is slender and often brownish-fibrous; cap patches are rare or absent.
Habitat
Moist acidic woodland, often with birch, spruce, and pine, and at bog margins.
Fruiting period
June, July, August, September, October
