Description
A pale grey to silvery Tricholoma with a fibrous-scaly cap; the source lists it as edible, but grey knights are difficult to identify.
Identification features
The cap is pale to silver-grey, dry and radially fibrous to finely scaly. Gills are white to greyish. The stem is whitish and lacks a ring.

How to separate similar species
The key dangerous lookalike in the group is poisonous Tricholoma pardinum. A photograph alone is not sufficient for safe food decisions.
Habitat
Grows in deciduous and mixed woodland and on grassy edges, from summer to autumn.
