Description
A tough shell- to funnel-shaped wood fungus with violet tones on young caps and crowded gills running down a lateral stem.
Identification features
Cap 5–10 cm wide, shell-, funnel- or fan-shaped, often violet at the margin when young, later ochre-brown. Gills are crowded and strongly decurrent.
