Description
A thin orange crust fungus on wood with a strongly wrinkled and radially veined surface.
Identification features
The fruitbody forms thin round to irregular patches, pale yellow to deep orange or flesh-reddish. The surface is strongly knobbly, ridged and radially folded; flesh is gelatinous.

How to separate similar species
Related Phlebia species can be similar in colour. Fold pattern and microscopic characters matter in difficult specimens.
Habitat
Grows mainly on dead bark and wood of hardwoods, especially beech, mainly in autumn and early winter.
