Description
A small orange to pink-orange waxcap with distinctly slimy cap and stem.
Identification features
Cap 1–3 cm, hemispherical to flattened and later often funnel-depressed, yellow-orange to pink-orange and very slimy. Gills are distant and pale pink. Stem is brown-orange, sometimes violet-tinged, and also slimy.

How to separate similar species
Gliophorus psittacinus usually shows noticeable green and yellow tones. Colour separation is harder in faded or old specimens.
Habitat
Grows among grass and moss at mixed woodland edges and under pines, mainly in autumn.
