Description
A small golden-yellow waxcap with a distinctly slimy stem and sticky cap.
Identification features
Cap 2–5 cm, pointed at first, later convex to nearly flat, golden yellow with orange tones. Gills are white to yellowish. Stem is very thin, golden yellow and distinctly slimy.

How to separate similar species
Hygrocybe ceracea has a dry stem. Because this species is rare, AI should avoid high confidence on unclear photographs.
Habitat
Grows on sunny grassy slopes, pastures, woodland clearings and edges in late summer and autumn; rare.
